It is with great pleasure that the University of Aveiro becomes associated with the organization of the European Course in Plastic Surgery, one of the primary annual postgraduate teacher courses in the field of Plastic Reconstructive Aesthetic Surgery within Europe and beyond. We are very proud of being a part of this effort.
The earliest records of aesthetic surgical procedures date back to antiquity when the understanding of anatomy and techniques was still limited. Aesthetic surgery has evolved significantly over the years. Technological advances and the use of new materials, techniques, and equipment have allowed for more effective and safer outcomes, less invasive procedures, and more personalized approaches.
The theme of this meeting underscores the crucial role that Postgraduate teaching and continuing medical education play in maintaining the high standards of plastic reconstructive aesthetic surgery. Rigorous training and continuous learning equip surgeons with the necessary skills to address a wide range of reconstructive and aesthetic concerns, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, and ensuring that patients receive the most advanced surgical care.
